2025 Endorsement

Help us elect a school committee who treats academic excellence and advanced math as priority issues by voting for the following candidates, and by sharing this list with other voters

New Voices: In one of the largest fields ever, we’ve been most impressed by these challengers, who have a history of advocating for practical change in Cambridge:

  • Eugenia Schraa Huh - vocal supporter of advanced learning, smart data-driven policy maker, afterschool advocate who improved teacher pay (CALA-member favorite)

  • Anne Coburn - strong voice for twice-exceptional learners, concrete policy goals

Incumbents with Proven Records: These candidates have directly advocated within the school committee during the past two years (bringing back Algebra 1 in 8th grade, creating a real advanced learning policy)

  • Richard Harding - powerful and persuasive voice for advanced learning, wants high expectations in our classrooms

  • Elizabeth Hudson - math and science education is her campaign platform, relentless push for excellence at CPS

  • David Weinstein - early leader on advanced learning policy, wants to strengthen upper schools; called for review of the Innovation Agenda

Other Challengers to Rank:

  • Alex Bowers - analytical mindset, personal experience with advanced learning, deep knowledge of CPS

  • Arjun Jaikumar - wants more educators in classroom, would like to see advanced learning include humanities, arts and vocational fields as well as STEM

Good to Know: Eugenia Schraa Huh and David Weinstein are both former public school teachers.  Alex Bowers was a long-time Cambridge Day reporter who covered Cambridge Public Schools. Anne Coburn was one of the KLO caregivers who advocated for a smooth transition process for students when the school was closed.
